Biography
Paul is a longstanding electronic engineer in the electronics and appliance fields and holds a BSEET from DeVry University.
Paul started his career in the repair industry for both retailers and manufacturers and concurrently consulted in assembly-line repair techniques as a manufacturer’s representative.
He joined the technical team at SHARP Electronics in 1997 and afterward his responsibilities expanded greatly. During his years at SHARP his responsibilities included maintaining quality of consumer-electronic products, investigating product failures and interfacing with domestic and overseas factories to resolve these issues. In addition, he performed classroom-style technical training for television, video, audio and appliance products.
As a result of continuous education, Paul became a member of various technical societies and continues to accrue certfications. Key certifications include ISCET’s CET Journeyman and NAFI’s CFEI. Training seminars are numerous but include ISF, Spectrical (video), and many fire-investigation related seminars sponsored by NAFI, IAAI, NFPA and Fire Findings Laboratories.
Paul took an active role in instituting advanced product safety investigation programs at SHARP. Safety-related roles included training of both technical staff and front-line consumer hotline staff to add skills needed to speed detection and resolution of potential safety issues. Evaluations of products suspected of exhibiting safety-related failure were done understanding the value of NFPA 921 and NFPA 1033. Final reports were furnished to insurance companies and/or legal departments. Incident samples and exemplars were inventoried and protected as per legal requirement.
